Oh, Dreidle, Dreidle, Dreidle, I made it out of clay, and when it's dry and ready, oh Dreidle I will play!

It is acctually a very fun game, although I am very bad at it.

Dreidle is a game that includes a Top like toy with different sides called a Dreidle, and a bunch of chocolate coins called, "Gelt."

The different sides of the Dreidle mean something, when you spin it and it lands on one of the four sides, you do what it says in respect to the chocolate coin pile.

The sides:

Nun: Take nothing.

Gimel: Take the entire pile of Gelt.

Hey: Take half of the pile of Gelt.

Shin: Put one Gelt in the pile.

I think that the game goes forever, or at least until the latkas are done.

What are your opinions of the game? Any dreidle masters here on this forum?

I'm not Jewish, but Princeton Friends School used to pass out dreidels and teach us how to play each year, it's a fun game. (though I like the chocolate best XD )
I'm kind of sorry that I lost my technicolor plastic dreidels, I'll have to see if the school still gives those out.
