Fun Halloween Treats

Postby RealaRulez96 on Tue Oct 07, 2008 9:15 pm

These are some fun snacks you can make for Halloween. I'll start off with one I got from a T.V show that only shows during October.

Jack-O-Lantern Smores

You will need:

Marshmallows
Grahm Crackers
Hershey's Chocolate
Chocolate Syrup
A Toothpick

First, stack the chocolate and marshmallow on one grahm cracker. Stick the toothpick in the chocolate syrup and make a jack-o-lantern face on the marshmallow. Put it in a microwave for 20-25 seconds( the cool part is watching it puff up like a balloon). Be careful, it'll be hot when you take it out. Put the second grahm cracker on and ENJOY!! :D

I'll be back soon with more fun treats. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Ooh, this is a good idea! Both the thread, and the s'mores.
Remember to only have one or two of these, I made myself pretty sick that last time that I had a bunch, not fun! XD

So, does anyone else have any recipes to share?
I haven't tried this, but here's one for pumpkin oatmeal:
For breakfast with a fall flavor that really sticks to your ribs, try this delicious pumpkin oatmeal.
Ingredients:

* 2 cups quick or old-fashioned oats
* 3 cups fat-free milk
* 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
* 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
* 1/8 tsp cinnamon
* 1 tbsp raisins
* Brown sugar to taste

Preparation:
Place oatmeal in a microwave-safe bowl and stir in milk. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes. Remove from microwave and stir in pumpkin puree, spice and cinnamon. Heat for 40-60 seconds, or until heated through. Stir in raisins. Sweeten with brown sugar if necessary and enjoy.

Stovetop method

Bring milk to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in oats and cook on a medium heat for about 5 minutes. Add pumpkin and spices and stir until heated through. Stir in raisins just before serving.

Serves 4.

Obviously, don't use the stove method unless you're either old enough to use the stove or have an adult helping.

I tried it and it's really good! :D My dad made this a while back and still does.

Pumpkin Pancakes:

Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 egg
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons vinegar

Directions:
1.In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, pumpkin, egg, oil and vinegar. Combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, allspice, cinnamon, ginger and salt, stir into the pumpkin mixture just enough to combine.

2.Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

NiGHTS left Nightmare for good reasons. One is that they have a techno rave every 10 seconds, for 1 hour. Talk about annoying.

So pumpkin puree, do you make it yourselves? Because if so, that's awesome!
Most recipes expect people to use canned stuff.
