As promised in the other thread... ;)
How was your holiday? What'd ya get? Any stories you'd like to share?
Mine was pretty good, even though having holidays at the beginning of the week always throws me off.
Saturday night, my uncle calls after we finish watching "The Pursuit of Happyness" (excellent movie, by the way). He says, "Well, your present is going to be a little late this year. I'm getting you the Wii -" (insert my quiet squeal of joy) "-but I can't find any around here just yet. After the holidays, and when they get back into the stores, that'll be on the way." YAY, I'm getting a Wii!
Sunday night, my boy came over and we hung around here, and as we were leaving to go do some last minute shopping -- we found a cell phone in the yard that was neither of ours, and didn't belong to my parents. So, we hung on to it...
Monday, my folks went to my stepmom's relatives for the day and I went to my boyfriend's house to visit with his family. On the way out, I see a sign that says "Lost cell phone, please call.." so I made a note of it and would call them after I got home (as I was planning to get back here early). My boyfriend's parents gave me some VERY nice art stuff and Subway gift cards, not to mention these super-awesome and super-soft socks. My boyfriend got me some paper and Prismacolor stix which are much easier to use for coloring backgrounds than are pencils!
Came home, my parents got home later.. I called the people with the cell phone and they were very relieved to have found it, but they'd already shut off its service.
We opened gifts later, again I got a ton of gift cards and a few small odds and ends. I already used part of one of my gift cards to buy some of the colored pencils I've been needing and going out later on with a coupon to buy some inking pens.
Yesterday, we went to my aunt's for dinner with my grandparents and her work friend.. The work friend had the most adorable little sheltie dog over. So cute. I got some bath stuff and some teas, and a to-be-done-later shopping for either art supplies or Wii supplies. Got some house stuff from my grandma, since they weren't thinking that I was moving back in. They also gave me the batteries I'd been wanting, and now my Dreamcast memory stick thinger works again. Yay.
Kind of a quiet holiday, but it's been a pretty stressful year for us all. There were an ungodly number of very personal deaths between my parents' various family and friends, not to mention my own personal struggles.
Here's to hoping next year is a positive and productive one.
