That is very strange. Personally, I think that it would've made the game a little more interesting.

That is also true. What the true reason for his removal is, by far, unknown. Any more ideas then what we got?

They might have removed him because it my have taken a long time to create both him and his level. Then, the might have been released later than anticipated.

I've acctually thought of the same thing with the shape shifting Nightmaren.

I had this thought through my mind that perhaps Selph's shape shifing ability isn't like Mimi's from Super Paper Mario. Maybe Selph can only take form of the dreamers that Selph sees. Very much like a mirror in a way, since mirrors show people's "Selph."

Well, many kids wouldn't even understand it probably... But there are many things in the game for only grown-ups (or at least more grown) to understand, so it wouldn't be a big mistake.
