One of my favorite things about Christmas is trimming the tree.
Ever since I was a little girl, I was constantly nagging my mom to get the lights on so that I could start hanging ornaments.
And that led to the artistic positioning of each and every ornament, they had to be placed just right, so that the lights reflected through or around them for added effect.

I adapted this for my Christmas NiGHTS story, there's a scene where Jackle is trimming the tree with the same focus.
That's a direct reference to my own habits. XD


Er anyway, do you have a favorite tree ornament?
Mine is hard to pick. I love my winged cat, but I also love the pearly icicles (I need to find more like those!)
And the apple on a stick that one of my closest friends gave to me back in the early 90's.
We've since lost touch, so putting that particular ornament on the tree is how I make sure that that friend is still a part of what I do.

Hm, I guess that apple is my favorite XD

Ooh.. sounds like you do a nice job of trimming the tree. I never thought about using the lights to enhance decorations. I go more for balance of distribution.

Anyway. My favorite ornaments still have to be the ones from when I was a kid. I'm planning on setting up my little tree tomorrow since it's my only day off this week and it's getting too close to Christmas.. and same with tomorrow, I will get pictures of my favorite ornaments! they're a set of different faces, all hand-made and painted, each with a different expression. They were so unique that they really stood out to me, and last year my mom sent them to me (I think I already noted that in the Tradition topic).

My favorite ornament has a little bit of a story to it.

There is this fast food place that me and my family always go to when we are driving to Nashville, TN and Kentucky called White Castle. It has the best burgers ever(aside from the ones that are at a local diner in my town). So we decided to take a White Castle burger box, put a plastic burger and fries in it, and hung it on the tree. It was also made in memory of my dog, Princess, who passed away a year ago .
